About Us

The Fossil Lake III Homeowners Association was initially formed in December 2005 and officially became "active" in May 2006 when the developer and their attorney relinquished control to the newly elected Board of Directors (volunteer residents).
 
Fossil Lake community consists of 3 sections.  Sections 1 and 2 were developed without any amenities or common areas.  Section 3 was the final phase and is the only section that has a common area consisting of a small lake, pond, and stream for private use by Section 3 residents.  Therefore, section 3 was required to create an HOA to manage these common areas.
 
Fossil Lake Community sits in one of the Southern-most areas of Arlington, TX.   We are just minutes from walking trails, Mansfield Webb Park, TCC SE Campus, shopping, and dining locations.  We are in the Mansfield Independent School District.
 
This Website was conceived as a homeowner resource providing both access to Association related information and a convenient means for homeowners to communicate with the Board of Directors and each other.
 
The Board of Directors anticipates this site will serve our members well by:
  • Keeping Homeowners informed about the activities of the Association.
  • Improving communications between homeowners and their Board.
  • Fostering a better understanding of the Board's work.
  • Facilitating the implementation of Association policies.
  • Providing convenient homeowner access to Rules, Policies, and Procedures.
  • Improving and standardizing the implementation of the Rules and Policies.
  • Providing for future expansion of the site without costly redesign.
Although our website is initially geared towards serving the members of the HOA, we are planning to add new features next year that will open this up to ALL Fossil Lake residents as a community resource where we can post our concerns, issues, etc.  Think of it as like the Nextdoor app, only it is just our community. Those posting advertisements in our community concerns message board areas will be banned. 
 
Some features we want to introduce next year as this site is expanded to become a community resource for all Fossil Lake residents.
  • Message Board - Similar to NextDoor website and app - but only allowing people living in Fossil Lake sections 1, 2, and 3 to post.
  • Business Directory where people can also enter their reviews for them.  
  • Lost and Found feature
  • Garage Sale feature for announcing garage sales in the area.
  • Find a Sitter feature.  The Find a Sitter feature allows visitors to submit an ad to the website to promote their house, kid, and pet sitting services. Members can also be allowed to submit a review regarding their experiences with each sitter.
